49th Annual Conference of the Jean Piaget Society "Globalization, Culture, & Development: Insights and Alternatives in the Contemporary World Organizers: Ashley Maynard & Nandita Chaudhary". June 6–8, 2019, Hilton Downtown, Portland, Oregon

Мероприятие завершено
Submission Deadline: 15 December 2018

The constructivist tenet that knowledge is not a copy of reality is especially useful and generative in exploring questions of adaptation to global change. In the context of current global visibility, how do we construe culture and its role in human development? What contemporary research on cultural aspects of development hold and which change, and under what conditions? And how can we use rich, culturally-instantiated findings to influence policy and effective intervention?

The plenary and invited symposia speakers in this conference will consider cultural phenomena as mechanisms for development in the context of globalization using complex, field-based, mixed methods. The invited program will be a conversation about how we can use developmental theory and innovative methods to understand change in a changing world.
